PURPOSE: The Network Support Service enables districts to connect school buildings into a district Wide Area Network (WAN) and to connect the district LAN/WAN with the BOCES Regional Network. This regional network serves both the administrative and instructional needs of participating school districts. In addition to supporting this network infrastructure, the service also supports the acquisition and networking of IBM/compatible microcomputers for many administrative uses. These microcomputers act as network workstations and can be used to access both centralized applications at the Center and distributed applications that are district-based.

PURPOSE: This service provides for an Internet connection and support of that connection, to the district’s point of entry (router). Additional support options are also available.
