Comprehensive Academic
Improvement Team (CAIT)
Responsibilities of this team's members will include:
- Developing the Comprehensive District Educational Planning (CDEP) Plan
- Review student performance on local, state and standardized assessments
- Identify priorities
- Search for and identify root causes
- Conduct research and report on effective practices
- Identify strategies and develop action plans to implement these strategies
- Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of plan
- Develop and monitor effectiveness of the Professional Development Plan (PDR)
- Establishing any Instructional or Technology Mini Grant Processes (RFP and
rubric development and proposal review and prioritization)
- Reviewing effectiveness of Academic Intervention Services (AIS)
- Communicating regularly with staff in respective buildings
- Members must commit to a two-year term (some staggering one year terms in
2001-2002)
- Composition of the team will be:
- 3 teacher representatives from each building level
- 3 building Principals
- 1 representative of Pupil Personnel Team
- 1 member of the NVUT Executive Committee
- Assistant to the Superintendent
