Comprehensive Academic Improvement Team (CAIT)

Responsibilities of this team's members will include:

• Developing the Comprehensive District Educational Planning (CDEP) Plan

• Review student performance on local, state and standardized assessments
• Identify priorities
• Search for and identify root causes
• Conduct research and report on effective practices
• Identify strategies and develop action plans to implement these strategies
• Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of plan
• Develop and monitor effectiveness of the Professional Development Plan (PDR)

• Establishing any Instructional or Technology Mini Grant Processes (RFP and rubric development and proposal review and prioritization)

• Reviewing effectiveness of Academic Intervention Services (AIS)

• Communicating regularly with staff in respective buildings

• Members must commit to a two-year term (some staggering one year terms in 2001-2002)

• Composition of the team will be:
• 3 teacher representatives from each building level
• 3 building Principals
• 1 representative of Pupil Personnel Team
• 1 member of the NVUT Executive Committee
• Assistant to the Superintendent
