| InfoTrac Student Edition
InfoTrac Student Edition is an online database of information primarily made up of magazines and journals. There are a certain number of newspaper articles, but that component has been reduced recently. InfoTrac had been an independent service provider, but it is now part of Gale Group. Articles are indexed back to 1985. Articles are brought up chronologically, the most recent will appear first. Searches can be narrowed by subdivision or related subjects can be viewed. The database is updated weekly. Searching can be done by a variety of ways: subject, relevance, keyword and advanced. A subject word or phrase will retrieve the article from the index terms, the title of the article or supplementary note. A relevance search will arrange the articles by length so that the shortest ones will be last. If it is a more obscure topic, a keyword search will scan the entire database for references. In advanced search, you may search by a keyword, a particular author, a particular range of dates or a particular journal title. http://infotrac.galegroup.com/itweb/newarkvalleyhs This URL will work from any networked computer at the High School.
