| 2/1- Senior Night lived up to the hype. The crowd roaring at just about anything. Coach Puglisi, a firm believer in Senior Night started with an unusual line, a line that start the game with a 9-0 run, the first all season. The seniors, Joe Onafrio, Zach Lenox, Kyle Schiess, Corey Sweet, Mike Stauder, Luke Henson and Elrod Andersen, won their potential last home game 42-37. The defense has been the trademark of the team these last four out of five giving up less then 43 points in those games. | 1/18- Down by ten with about two minutes left, the Cardinals made their run at a comeback. Down by three they fouled with 8.1 seconds, Watkins Glen missed both free throws leaving the door open. The Cardinals got the rebound and hit a three pointer as time expired forcing overtime. But in the end Watkins Glen pulled out the victory 63-62. The team will be in action at Trumansburg this Friday. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 1/14- Finally, the long wait and lossing streak is over. The basketball team picked up the victory and picked up the sweep over Marathon on the year. The team jumped out to a 8-0 lead and won 44-37. The Cardinals now have to travel for the next three games, two out of the three on the other side of Ithaca. Tuesday night they will be in Watkins Glen, for the second time through the division. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 1/11- Out of the tough close losses, this game was the toughest and closest. A tie game until 6.4 seconds in the fourth quarter when Tioga made one out of two free throws to take the lead for good. But the Cardinals had their shot. Broke the press and had a three on one chance, they pulled up for the shot and clanked off the front part of the rim and leaving the shot of a game winning shot up in the air. The shot just went straight up and knocked out as time ran out. Friday the Cardinals will try and find their winning edge, as they host Marathon. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 1/7- Chalk up another tough loss for the Cardinals, but this time it was to the Candor Indians. First half was shaping up tp be a good game but by the end the Cardinals suffered the loss. The team will be in action in Tioga Tuesday. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 1/4- Cardinals are on a little bit of a losing streak and it continues after last night. The team played Elmira ND and lost 44-39. The team was led by Luke Henson with 16 points. The team will be in action Friday night at home against Candor. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 12/21- With four players with ankle problems the Cardinals lost a close game to the Dryden Purple Lions. The team was down by two with 26.8 seconds and had six shots from the block and missed everyone before there was a long rebound Dryden had recovered it and went down but was fouled intentionally and that was the nail in the coffin. Final score 67-63. The team was led by Cody Rosenbarker with 21 points and 13-13 from the foul line. The team with then play again 1/4 home against Elmira ND. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 12/18- The game against Waverly was moved to Waverly's gym taking away a home game for the Cardinals. Anyway the game started out with the Cardinals jumping out to an early lead that was diminished by the end of the game. Waverly eventually won the game 46-42. Matt Gac led the team with 19 points. The team will be in action Tuesday night at Dryden. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 12/14- The team had found their winning ways again Tuesday night as they played T-burg with a score of 60-53. Going into halftime the Cardinals were leading by 14. The start of the second half they were able to extend their lead up to 19. But T-burg made their run and the Cardinals were able to with stand the run and hang on to the lead. This is the first time in several years the Cardinals were able to break 60. The Cardinals had four players in double digits with three with 14. Luke Henson, Brad Allen, and Cody Rosenbarker led the way with 14 points and Mike Stauder scoring 11. The team will be in action again this Saturday home against Waverly tip time at around 2:30. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 12/10- The winning streak of the boys basketball is snapped Friday night to the Senacas from Watkins Glen in the opening game of division play. The final score was 60-55. The Cardinals trailed by nine at one point in the fourth quater and the Cardinals made a run to make it a game worth watching. The Cardinals were led for the fourth straight game by Cody Rosenbarker with 16 points and by Luke Henson with 15. The team will be in action Tuesday night at home against Trumansburg. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 12/7- The varsity boys basketball's winning streak is now up to 2. The team had another nail biter Tuesday night at Marathon. The Cardinals were down mainly the whole game until crunch time of the fourth quarter. The team was once again led by Cody Rosenbarker with 12 points followed up with Luke Henson and Mike Stauder with 10 points each. The team will be in action Friday night when Watkins Glen come to town. Game time start around 7:30. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 12/3- The varsity boys basketball team picked up their first win Friday night with the score 59-56. The team was once again led by Cody Rosenbarker with 18 points and two others in double digits. Tioga had momentum going into halftime after a three pointer was made as the buzzer was sounded but the Cardinals made a run out of halftime to take the lead and never looked back. The team will be in action Tuesday night at Marathon. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 12/1- The varsity boys basketball team lost to a solid Candor team Wednesday night in Candor. The score was 77-44. Cody Rosenbarker led the team with 15 points. The team will be in action this Friday night at home against Tioga. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
